Why are kettbells so effective?
In cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness for athletes and non-athletes boils down
to two keys, INTENSITY and WORK. High level INTENSITY burns fat and improves cardiorespiratory
fitness. WORK is product of FORCE x DISTANCE. Let's look at this process more scientifically
and for simplicity lets take the basic kettlbell ballistic swing of a 20kg weight that is being
swung 4 feet for 100 repetitions. So we will be moving the "bell" 2 times per swing, once
up and one time down or 8-feet per swing (2-swings x 4-feet). Now lets take the
100 repetitions times 8-feet and we will move the weight 800-feet. Thats IMPRESSIVE,
but we are not done yet! Now take the weight of 20kg and multiply that by gravity
(9.81mss) and that is 196.2kg PER SWING. Can you see where we are going yet? So
we know, we will move the weight 800-feet and it will take us 100 repetitions or
swings multiplied by 196.2kg, which means that you would have lifited 19,620kg or
43,164 POUNDS with one exercise. THAT IS HIGH INTENSITY
AND WORK and that equals STRENGTH AND FITNESS.
